Our range of roof kits and options

We developed our range of roof kits especially for the DIY sector, to give homeowners easy access to highly effective waterproofing. Designed to simplify both ordering and installation, we have created our range to suit a wide variety of project and situations. Let’s take a closer look:

RubberCover EPDM Roof Kits

Shed Roof Kits

Our EPDM shed roof kits are available in a range of standard shed sizes, making choosing the right one easy. They include a single sheet of RubberCover membrane (including additional for overhang and trimming), sufficient spray adhesive, sealant and full install instructions. This is one of the easiest kits to install and ideal for DIY. The membrane carries a Lifetime Guarantee in our shed roof kits.

Garage Roof Kits

Including edge and gutter trim, our garage roof kits are available in standard single and double garage project kits, complete with RubberCover membrane, liquid adhesive, sealant, fixings and rollers. If your garage roofing is concrete, you may need to use a mechanical install method or use a primer and bonding, rather than water-based adhesive. Talk to the team if you require any assistance with your order.

Flat Roof Kits

For extensions, garden rooms and other types of project, we offer a complete flat roof kit that includes our edge and gutter trim system. You enter your own measurements, and we do the rest, hand-cutting the EPDM and calculating your adhesive and accessories before packing your kit for fast delivery.

EPDM Kit for Small Projects

Our small EPDM kit – 3m x 1m – is perfect for bay window waterproofing and other smaller roof surface areas, such as on rabbit hutches, bin or bicycle storage sheds. This kit includes RubberCover EPDM, adhesive, sealant, gutter trim, fixings and a piece of flashing.

Liquid Roof Kits

Off-the-Shelf Liquid Kits

Permaroof100 is our high-performance liquid PU roof coating, developed and launched with domestic waterproofing in mind. We offer complete liquid roof kits in two project sizes – 5m2 and 10m2 – including everything needed – PU liquid coating, reinforcing bandage, rollers, mixing paddle and gloves. Straightforward to apply, installation guide included.

Liquid roof kits for larger projects

If you require a liquid roof kit for a project larger than 10m2, you can purchase multiple kits online or give the team a call to discuss your requirements.

Bespoke Roof Kit Options

EPDM Enter-Your-Own-Size

Our enter-your-own-size option is available with both standard (1.14mm) or premium (1.52mm) RubberCover EPDM membrane. This kit starts at 8m2 and is calculated using your maximum length and width project measurements, which are added to the drop-down boxes provided on the product listing. Trim is included in this roof kit with three colour options. You choose your colour in the final drop-down box, and we do the rest. No quantifying needed.

Roof Kit Calculator Tool

The PermaRoof Roof Kit Builder is a free online tool available to both DIY and trade roofers. Easy to navigate, the tool uses basic project information and your measurements to calculate a full materials list in four steps and within minutes if you have your information to hand. Considerations before choosing a DIY roof kit

If you’re wondering how you decide whether an EPDM roof kit or a liquid roof kit will provide the best option for you, consider the following:

Substrate – for timber substrates and roof decks, EPDM membranes are often the ideal solution, fast and easy to install using a water-based adhesive. This makes EPDM perfect for timber sheds and roofing with timber decks. EPDM will also go onto insulation and cover boards smoothly, creating a reliable, seamless covering. Other types of substrate often require use of a primer with EPDM, a bonding adhesive and sometimes mechanical fixings.

P100 liquid coatings cover a wider range of substrates, such as concrete or metal, which are more commonly found in some of the UKs older domestic outbuildings and garages. Applied in a single coat, liquid PU covers fully cured concrete seamlessly, filling small cracks and providing a long-term approach. Liquid roofing systems are also a good choice for the more complex projects, where membrane may prove more difficult to install. These might include roofing with an angular design with tight corners, for instance.

Accurate measurements – crucial and central to any waterproofing project are very accurate measurements. If you’re buying a complete roofing kit for a straightforward surface area, you will only need two reliable measurements – the maximum length and width.

Measure these two dimensions on the ground using a single, long tape, if possible, to avoid mistakes and double check your measurements before you order your roof kit. There should be no need to access the roof to measure. If you’re buying a liquid roof kit, multiply these two dimensions together to find the square meterage:

e.g. 3m (width) x 4m (length) = 12m2

In our standard shed roof kits, we allow for both pitch and overhang and list our kits based on the shed body dimensions. Simply order by shed size. For roofing with complex angles, you may need to use triangulation to calculate the quantity of membrane or liquid PU required. We have a complete measuring guide to walk you through this if you need assistance, on our corporate website here
